We recently installed a RippMaster system on a Fendt 1100 Vario MT, paired with a Gessner Industries HD deep ripper. The system was configured to run automatic depth control, automatic tilt control and adaptive depth functionality.
We also integrated a SolSteer SmartSCV to manage the hydraulic circuits. The SmartSCV provides accurate electronic control of the tractor remotes, allowing the RippMaster system to make fast, precise adjustments to both depth and tilt.

In standard target mode, the system works to a set depth and monitors tractor slip. If slip increases beyond the set limit, the ripper will lift slightly to bring slip back under control. This protects traction and keeps the tractor working efficiently in changing soil conditions.

Adaptive mode builds on this. The system still works to the target depth, but if slip remains low and conditions allow, it will progressively work deeper. This ensures the machine achieves maximum possible depth while keeping slip within a controlled range.
Tilt control runs alongside depth control, automatically keeping the implement level across its full working width. If one side begins to run deeper or shallower, the system corrects it to maintain an even working profile.
On this Fendt MT and Gessner HD combination, that means:
- Target depth control with automatic slip protection
- Adaptive depth for maximum achievable working depth
- Automatic tilt control for even soil fracture
- Reduced need for manual hydraulic adjustments
- Consistent results across varying paddock conditions
We also completed a similar RippMaster installation on a Challenger E Series, again paired with a Gessner ripper, delivering the same depth, tilt and slip-based control across a different tractor platform.

If you are looking to improve consistency and control in your deep ripping program and want to understand how target and adaptive depth control could work on your machine, get in touch and we can discuss the right setup for your tractor and implement.
